Grupo RPP is the most important media conglomerate in Peru
The group has several radio business lines: RPP Notícias, Studio 92, Capital, Oxygen, Corazón, Felicidad, La Zona; and the main sites in the country in the information segment and in the music and entertainment market. The RPP Group also has two television channels (RPP TV and Capital TV), the MCD Mercados and Sabrosa radio markets, and the Retail Screens business.
In 2017, it launched the RPP Player, an audio streaming platform on demand to listen to previous programs, generating exclusive podcast content about sports, technology, video games, culture, etc.
Recently they launched AudioPlayer Peru, a platform that allows you to listen to Peruvian radios on your cell phone without complications, invasive advertising and at no cost. The application includes stations such as: RPP Notícias, Rádio Capital, Rádio Oxigeno, Rádio Estúdio 92, Rádio La Zona, Rádio Felicidad and Rádio Corazón.
RPP has been characterized over time for being a pioneer in the launch of audio and podcast products, always offering first-rate products of excellent quality. Within what characterizes them is that they seek technological partners that allow them to continue innovating in this line and developing new products. For this reason, as of March 2021, Mediastream starts to work with Grupo RPP as its official streaming provider.
One of the main reasons that triggered this alliance between the two companies is that they were looking for a robust platform that would allow them to optimize internal uptime, offer high quality streaming and have a business partner that would allow them to innovate in the area.
In August 2020, Mediastream inaugurated a new point of presence (PoP) in Lima, thus complementing our physical points of presence to improve the coverage of our own CDN in the region. This was also a fundamental element for the RPP, as it allows a better experience of consumption of content to the users who are in the Peruvian territory.
Our API for integration with your RPP Player product, was of great help for a quick integration between the services and together with the new digital advertising revenue formats such as Audio Ad Insertion, also the already known Pre-Mid and Post-roll, they were decisive elements for RPP to choose Mediastream as its new streaming provider.
